🌼 Chandan Yatra & Akshaya Tritiya

The sacred festival of Chandan Yatra will be observed at the holy Jagannath Temple on Sunday, 19 April 2026, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.
Chandan Yatra marks the beginning of the summer festival season of Lord Jagannath. During this 21-day celebration, the deities are ceremonially anointed with sandalwood paste (chandan) to provide divine cooling during the summer season. The festival reflects devotion, tradition, and the rich spiritual heritage of Puri.
Akshaya Tritiya is considered one of the most sacred days in the Hindu calendar, symbolizing prosperity, success, and eternal auspiciousness. On this day, special rituals and offerings are performed seeking divine blessings for well-being and abundance.
Devotees are warmly invited to participate in the rituals and seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath on this sacred occasion.
Below are the major events observed at our temple:
🚩 Ratha Yatra
The grand festival of Lord Jagannath, celebrated with great enthusiasm. The holy chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra are taken in a procession through the village, allowing all devotees to have darshan and seek blessings.
🌸 Snana Purnima
On this auspicious day, the deities are ceremonially bathed, marking the beginning of the annual rituals leading to Ratha Yatra.
🪔 Daily Aarti & Puja
Morning and evening aartis are conducted every day with traditional rituals. Devotees are welcome to participate and offer prayers.
🎶 Bhajan & Kirtan Evenings
Regular devotional singing programs are organized, filling the temple premises with divine vibrations and devotion.
🎉 Major Odia Festivals
We celebrate important festivals such as:
